General Assembly on Monday to discuss Jenin report
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 8/3/2002
The Spokesman for the UN General Assembly Yan Fischer said that the UN general assembly will hold a special session on Monday in order to discuss the report relates to Jenin incidents.
Fischer said that 17 persons registered their names to deliver speeches during the session which will end by voting on a resolution.
Worthy mentioning that the UN General Assembly had asked the UN secretary general Kofi Annan on May 7 for a report on the incidents which took place during the Israeli invasion of Jenin camp in the West Bank.
The report which was published on Thursday concluded a formula that avoided accusing Israel of committing a crime in the Jenin camp, and it did not anger the Palestinian authority. It did not say Israel did not commit a crime, and it stressed the Israeli forces delayed helping the wounded and the humanitarian relief operations.
