Outstanding Lockerbie issues talks between Libya, South Africa

South Africa's foreign minister who arrived on Thursday in Libya said she will discuss with Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi the Lockerbie issue and the sanctions imposed on Tripoli.

The minister explained, in her capacity -- as her country is the current President for the African federation, that she is authorized to deal with Lockerbie issue and to discuss with Britain, the US and the UN, points which have not yet been solved especially suspending the sanctions imposed on Libya.

The South African foreign minister said that many things have taken place already and a trial was made, but the sanctions were not completely lifted. She said that "I am heading for Tripoli to know about matters which are not discussed yet and the remaining issues."
