Ben Ali wants international protection of Palestinians

Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has called for ensuring international protection for the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories. He stressed the need of finding out a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian question.

In a speech on Thursday in conclusion of the annual seminar for heads of Tunisian diplomatic missions and consulates, President Ben Ali expressed his "conviction that world peace issue will be fragile unless pending disputes are settled, especially in the Middle East where there has been an accelerated need to find out a just and comprehensive solutions for the Middle East question and to the Arab- Israeli conflict as a whole." The participants in the seminar which was held under the title "peace in today's world and the Tunisian approach," discussed during their five- day deliberations several current international issues, foremost being the Middle East question.
