Arafat gets a message from Chirac, telephone call from AL chief
Palestine-France, Politics, 7/31/2002

The chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat on Tuesday received a message from the French President Jacque Chirac and a telephone call from the secretary general of the Arab league Amr Moussa.

In a statement, Nabil Abu Rudinah, the advisor for Arafat said that the French president expressed in his message support and solidarity with the Palestinian Authority and people, noting that the message dealt with the efforts made to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and reviving the peace process.

Abu Rudinah explained that Arafat briefed Moussa in a telephone call on Tuesday on the grave developments taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories in light of the recent Israeli escalation and besieging the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority in Ramullah, the West Bank.
