Levy: Sharon is a catastrophe to the Israelis
Israel, Politics, 7/30/2002

The Israeli minister without portfolio David Levy who resigned his post on Sunday from the government described the policy pursued by the government of Ariel Sharon as a social and humanitarian catastrophe that the Israelis will suffer from for a long time.

In an interview with the Israeli Hebrew- language radio on Monday, Levy said he submitted his resignation from the Israeli government on Monday because he can not be a partner in the economic and social catastrophe this government caused for the Israelis.

Levy added that he will not join the Likud party again, nor support the efforts of the Israeli former Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the competition over the post of the prime minister, later.

Levy stressed he will continue to be the chairman for the Gesher movement he had established several years ago.
