Al-Sharq al-Awsat: 118 Yemenis return from Damascus 8 years after civil war
Yemen-Syria, Politics, 7/30/2002

It was announced in Sanaa the return of 118 Yemeni military men to the Yemeni city of Aden on Saturday evening coming from Damascus after they had spent 8 years following the civil war which erupted in Yemen in the summer of 1994.

The London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily said yesterday quoting Yemeni governmental sources as saying that the return of those military men came in the context of the general amnesty, issued by the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Aaleh following the war which caused the evacuation of hundreds of army officers and Yemeni leaderships to several adjoining Arab states.
