Paris: Peres meets with Qatari peer
Qatar-Israel, Politics, 7/29/2002
The Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres on Sunday in Paris met with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber al-Thani.
Sheikh Hamad whose country presides over the Organization of the Islamic Conference, said following the meeting that he had discussed with Peres developments of conditions in the Middle East region.
The Qatari news agency quoted foreign minister Hamad as stressing the "need of Israel's abidance to agreements and obligations it had signed with the Palestinian national authority." Sheikh Hamad also expressed his "condemnation for killing civilians from both sides."
Worthy mentioning that Qatar continues contacts with Israel despite the resolution issued by the recent Beirut Arab summit to halt contacts with Israel.
