Iraqi spokesman refutes Blair's allegations
Iraq-UK, Politics, 7/29/2002

The Iraqi foreign ministry on Sunday replied to statements made by the British prime minister Tony Blair in which he accused Iraq of owning mass destruction weapons and renewed readiness to receive a British inspection team in Baghdad.

The official spokesman for the Iraqi foreign ministry said that it seems that Mr. Blair is determined to escape replying to the Iraqi offer on February 28th on Iraq's immediate readiness to receive a British team to show us how and when Iraq tries to produce such a weapon."

He added that if the British prime minister wants to prove his allegations are true, "our offer is still valid. And we are waiting once again to see him offer one evidence."
