Syria-Regional, Politics, 7/26/2002
The Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Thursday started a tour as from Spain and covers each of Algeria and Morocco, according to official Syrian sources.
However, sources in Cairo said that al-Shara will be meeting with the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Madrid.
To this effect, the Syrian daily Teshreen said Thursday that al-Shara will hold talks "with high ranking officials in the three countries relating to bilateral relations and means of developing them as well as exchanging views on latest developments on the Arab and international arenas." Teshreen added that al-Shara will meet with the Spanish King Juan Carlos in Madrid.
