Government voices pride over evacuation by Spain of Moroccan islet

The Moroccan government on Wednesday voiced pride and satisfaction over the evacuation by Spain of the Moroccan islet of Tourah. The evacuation of the islet is likely "to pave the way for earnest and faithful negotiations (between Morocco and Spain) on all pending issues," culture and communication minister, Mohamed Achaari, told the press at the end of a weekly government council meeting.
Spanish forces evacuated a Moroccan Mediterranean islet after a four-day occupation. The two countries then announced an agreement to return to the previous status.
