Palestine-Israel, Military, 7/25/2002

The number of Palestinians killed in the attack committed by the Israeli forces in Gaza last Monday increased to 17, after the bodies of one four-month old infant and a four-year old female child were found under the remains of houses.

The Israeli forces continued breaking into the Palestinian cities and villages and launched campaigns of arrest amid tough besiege and curfew.

Three Palestinians were strongly wounded as the Israeli tanks opened fire at the house of Lt. Gen. Abdul Qader Oweidat in Areiha on Wednesday morning, when more than 20 Israeli tanks and armored vehicles broke into the city, cordoned Oweidat's house, opened fire at his house before inspecting it, and wounded his wife and two of his daughters.

Another Israeli armored force broke into Maaka village to the south of Jenin and imposed a strong siege, detained several Palestinians. Another Israeli forces broke into Tarqoumia town near Hebron and arrested four Palestinian youths after inspecting their houses.

Moreover, the Israeli forces arrested 88 Palestinians working in the territories of 1948.

The Palestinians retaliated by attacking a position for the Israeli forces to the north of Gaza, resulted in wounding two soldiers.

Near Louban village in the West Bank, two Israeli settlers were seriously wounded as a result of Palestinian resistance fighters who detonated an explosive in an Israeli car at the eastern entrance of Toulkarem city.
