Al-Shara reviews with Sultanov, Kaddoumi the Israeli attacks

The Syrian deputy premier and foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Wednesday received PLO Head of the Political Department Farkouk Kaddoumi and members of the accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by the Syrian deputy foreign minister Suleiman Haddad and the PLO representative in Damascus Mahmoud al-Khalidi.
SANA reported that talks dealt with developments of conditions in the Palestinian territories and the sufferings of the unarmed Palestinian people as a result of the policy of "terrorism and repression" pursued by Israel.
In this respect, al-Shara stressed the need of finding out an effective Arab position based on the resolutions of the recent Beirut Arab summit in order to put an end for the Israeli aggressive policy and not to give up Arab rights. For his part, Kaddoumi expressed the Palestinian people appreciation to the support given by Syria for the Palestinian question.
In a statement to the press following the meeting, Kaddoumi described his talks with al-Shara as positive and important especially amid the current critical conditions the Palestinian people and the Arab nation are facing.
Later in the day, al-Shara received the Russian deputy foreign minister Alexander Sultanov and members of the accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by the deputy foreign minister Mrs. Siba Nasser and the Russian ambassador in Damascus.
Discussions dealt with the conditions in the region and the continued Israeli attacks against the Palestinians and the need for international action to put an end to the Israeli practices.
