Egypt's interior minister warns against sedition acts

Egyptian Minister of Interior Habib AL Adli in a speech at the graduation ceremony Sunday of a new batch of police officers, said that the July 1952 revolution was among the most important events of the 20th century and in modern Egyptian history.
He asserted that the police would continue to shoulder their role in ensuring stability.
He noted that the ceremony, which was honored by the presence of President Mubarak, coincided with the celebration of she 50th anniversary of the July revolution.
The police are committed to the assignments of President Mubarak and the policy and programs of the government, the sovereignty of law and the freedom of the expression, the minister said.
He warned "those who might incite sedition and scatter and energy of society or work against legitimacy."
"We shall act against such elements with the will of the people and in adherence to unity, solidarity and commitment to the higher interests of the country," he said.
Minister of interior underlined the importance of adhering to the unity of the social fabric" and warned against sedition and outbidding and any attempt to squander national effort at a time when all efforts are mobilized for the progress and prosperity of Egypt.
