Largest soldiers remain exchange between Iraq, Iran

Steps aiming at further consolidation between Iraq and Iran continue, as the two countries on Sunday exchanged the remains of 1736 soldiers who died in the prisoners camps in both Iran and Iraq.
The Iraqi side handed the Iranian side the remains of 570 soldiers while the Iranian side handed the Iraqi side the remains of 1166 Iraqi soldiers.
The exchange operation took place at al-Munzireyah border area to the northern east Baghdad in the presence of officials representing the two sides.
A spokesman for the Iraqi foreign ministry said on July 18th that the file of dead prisoners in the prisoners camps in the two countries will be closed after this exchange operation.
