Morocco's Boulami and Guerrouj sign year's best performance in 3,000 steeple and 1,500 m race

Morocco's Brahim Boulami and Hicham El Guerrouj signed on Friday night at the Monaco Athletics meet, fourth stage of the Golden League, the year's best performance respectively in the 3,000 m steeplechase and 1,500 m race.
Boulami, who holds the 3,000 steeplechase world record, covered the distance in 8:00.56 improving Kenyan Wilon Boit Kipketer's timing set at the Stockholm athletics meet.
Hicham El Guerrouj, the three-time world champ in the distance, also signed the year's best performance in the 1,500 m race with a timing of 3:29.96. El Guerrouj also broke the meet record held by Algeria's Noureddine Morcelli since 1995.
