Morocco-USA, Politics, 7/20/2002
Morocco's King Mohammed VI had Friday a second round of phone talks with US Secretary of State Colin Powell, over the Moroccan Islet of Taoura-Leila. The sovereign thanked the US secretary of state for his country's efforts before and after the Spanish armed forces occupied the islet, in order to reach a solution to the dispute.
On Thursday, the sovereign also talked on the phone with Powell at the request of the US official. During the talks, there were an exchange of viewpoints and consultations to defuse the Moroccan-Spanish crisis over the islet.
