Russia welcomes Quartet group decisions

Russia has welcomed the UN Security Council support for the decisions of the Quarter committee taken four day ago in New York.

In a statement released on Friday on this occasion, the Russian foreign ministry said that Russia considers this consent by the UN security council on the "Quartet committee" decisions as an important step in order to support the efforts of the international community to finding out a final solution for the crisis in the region together with preserving the central political supervision of the UN.

The statement added that the UN security council called on all countries of the region to maintain cooperation in order to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region, based on UN resolutions concerned, Madrid conference principles and the land for peace formula.
