Israeli authorities arrest families of resistance men for expulsion
Palestine-Israel, Military, 7/20/2002
The Israeli forces have continued campaigns of arrest and detention amid news on plans to displace the Palestinian families whose children carried out "suicide operations."
Meantime, news reports from the occupied Palestinian territories said that the Israeli forces recently brought in 630 settlers from countries of the former Soviet Union and Argentine. The number of settlers arriving in Israel since the beginning of this year totaled 17,000 including 3,000 from Argentina.
The reports said the Israeli forces arrested 21 Palestinians of relatives of those who carried out the "double- operations " in Tel Aviv and Emanuel settlement that took place on Tuesday, especially their fathers and brothers with the aim to expel them.
In this regard, a spokesman for the Israeli army admitted that two houses or executors of recent operations against Israel were demolished.
Ezz Eddine al-Qassam group, the military wing of the Hamas movement, threatened to carry out a series of martyrdom operation against the Israeli forces in retaliation to expelling any of the families of resistance men. It stressed that these operations will be a natural reaction to the " Israeli policy of repression and to expelling the Palestinians, demolishing their houses and preventing them from settling in their country."
Meantime, the Israeli radio said that the police arrested three soldiers and 4 settlers suspected to be involved in stealing weapons and ammunition from military centers and of smuggling and then selling them to the Palestinians.
The Israeli radio explained that a networking inside the Israeli army is responsible for stealing and smuggling weapons to the Palestinians and that nine members of this network so far have been arrested from Adora and Titlim settlements near Hebron.
