Syrian- Lebanese cooperation dismantling landmines

The Lebanese army has announced it has continued cooperation with the Syrian forces working in Lebanon to dismantle mines implanted by the Israeli occupation forces in southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa over a period of 20 years.
The Lebanese army leadership said that within the plan carried out by the Lebanese army in collaboration with the Engineering unit in the Syrian army and the United Arab Emirates (UAR) "solidarity project" and other non- governmental international sides, during the second season (Spring) this year -- an area of 656371 square meters was cleared from land mines. The statement said that some 3606 anti personnel and vehicles mines were dismantled besides 2651 missile shells and explosives.
In another context, the Lebanese military investigation Riad Tlee issued a warrant of arrest against Badee Hamadeh, known as Abu Obeida, the killer of the three Lebanese military men near Ein al-Helweh camp in Sidon, one week ago.
