Syria's parliament speaker confers with member of Jordanian Upper House

The Speaker of the People's Assembly (PA) in Syria Abdul Qader Qaddoura on Thursday received Marwan al-Hamoud, member of the Jordanian al-A'yan (the upper chamber of the national assembly) who is also the secretary general of the forum for Arab states and African parliamentarians for populations and development.
The House of Parliament in Jordan (or as it is also called the National Assembly) is bicameral. The al-A'yan (also called the Senate, or the Upper Assembly) have members that are appointed by the King; whereas the Assembly of Representatives is elected by the public).
Discussions between the two sides dealt with bilateral relations between the Syrian PA and the Jordanian Al-A'yan council and means of coordinating their stances for the interests of the two states.
The two sides also discussed work agenda and venue of convening the forum of Arab states and Africa parliamentarians for population and development to be held in the last quarter of this year.
