Moroccan psychiatrist wins Sigmund Freud international prize

Moroccan psychiatrist-psychoanalyst Jalil Bennani was awarded the prestigious Sigmund Freud psychotherapy international prize of the city of Vienna, at a ceremony in Vienna this Tuesday, a statement by Morocco's embassy in Austria said.
During the ceremony, the jury of the World Psychotherapy Council, which awarded the Moroccan psychoanalyst the Sigmund Freud prize, considered as the psychotherapy Nobel Prize, surveyed his work and publications and his theoretical contribution and original approach to migration related pathologies and to the disturbances affecting children and adolescents.
The jury also hailed the Moroccan psychoanalyst's exceptional psychiatry work in Morocco and his contribution to promote adapted therapy tools.
Dr Jalil Bennani has published several works including "le corps suspect" (Galilee 1980), "Du bilinguisme" (collectif, Deno?l, 1985), "la psychanalyse au pays des saints" (le fennec, 1996), "Dictionnaire de la psychanalyse" (collectif, Calmann-L?vy, 2002).
Dr Bennani, who is founder member and chairman of the Moroccan psychotherapy association and holder of the 1997 prize of inter-Maghreban medicine societies, sponsored several international scientific meetings.
