Mubarak telephones Sharon

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt on Tuesday made a phone call with the Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon during which they discussed the grave situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. MENA reported that Mubarak stressed the need of ending the drastic condition the Palestinians suffer because of the Israeli siege of the Palestinian cities in the West Bank and the need of reaching a mechanism to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and restore the legitimate Palestinian rights.
MENA added that President Mubarak stressed that the use of military force will not achieve security and peace for the peoples of the region and that there is a need to return back to the peaceful solution within the framework of a clear flexible mechanism.
