Egypt: we did not ask permission to be in the four- member committee meeting
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 7/16/2002
The Egyptian foreign ministry said on Monday that Egypt does not need an authorization from the follow up committee which stems from the Arab League in order to meet sides of the four- member international peace committee on the Middle East which holds today a meeting in New York.
In a statement, the Egyptian foreign ministry said that "Egypt did not ask for a permission from the Arab peace initiative committee and it had moved on the ground of its duty," due to the conditions in the Middle East.
