Lebanon-USA, Politics, 7/15/2002

Member of the Lebanese Parliament Muhammad Raad, who is the chairman of the al-Wafa bloc for the Lebanese national resistance at the Lebanese parliament denied any link between the Hizbullah Party and al-Qaida organization.

In a statement to the BBC on Sunday, Raad added "these are mere American allegations that are groundless," noting that the Hizbullah party knows of the al-Qaida organization from the mass media.

He stressed that the US tried to impose its direct hegemony on the Middle East countries under the pretext of fighting terrorism.
