Dahlan is Arafat's security advisor, Oreikat: a crisis with Jordan on Palestinians crossing the border
Palestine-Jordan, Politics, 7/11/2002
The Palestinian local rule minister Saeb Oreikat on Wednesday in Amman expressed his hope to solve the crisis resulting from the fact that people of the West Bank are not able to get into the Jordanian territories with ease.
Following his meeting on Wednesday with the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marwan Muasher, Oreikat stressed that there is a crisis concerning the entry of the Palestinians into Jordan via bridges, especially King Hussein bridge. Muasher indicated that the Palestinian civil affairs minister Jamil al-Tureifi is currently in Amman to discuss this matter with the Jordanian minister of the interior Qaftan al-Majali.
On the other hand, the Qatari based al-Jazeera TV satellite station said the Palestinian Chairman Yasser Arafat will sign a decree for appointing Col. Muhammad Dahlan as an advisor for the national security.
