Moroccan customs administration launches electronic procedure for car-clearing, survey on quality of service
Morocco, Economics, 7/10/2002

The Moroccan customs and indirect taxes administration announced on Monday that visitors would be able to clear their cars (temporary admission) via a new computerized procedure.

The new procedure will ensure a smooth customs clearing for Moroccan expatriates coming to Morocco for summer holidays and for tourists.

The form, which can be downloaded from the administration web site, can be filled by car owners before starting their travel.

In another development, the customs administration said a survey it has conducted on the satisfaction of enterprises and freight agents found that its services have obtained a 7/10 satisfaction grade.

The study found that 82% of enterprises find "no difficulty" or "minor difficulties" while people travelling by air said they encountered almost no difficulty in the luggage inspection operation.
