Spanish ombudsman reviews with Moroccan observatory of child rights situation of minor illegal immigrants

The Spanish ombudsman, Enrique Mugica, who is currently on a visit to Morocco, reviewed on Monday with the Moroccan observatory of child right the situation of Moroccan children who were victims of illegal immigration. The Spanish ombudsman said he is concerned over the treatment given to Moroccan minors who find themselves in an illegal situation in Spain. He went on that this treatment is presently restricted to a security dimension.

A member of the observatory called for cooperation between his institution and the Spanish ombudsman in order to ponder on the issue of Moroccan minors and settle the problems they encounter in the respect of children rights.
