Four member committee discusses July 15 conditions in the region

The Danish Foreign Minister Pierre Moller announced in Copenhagen on Tuesday that the four- member committee which is composed of the US, the European Union, Russia and the UN will hold a meeting this month in New York in order to discuss the situation in the Arab region.

Moller whose country is presiding over the current rotating presidency of the European Union told journalists that the US Secretary of State Colin Powell and th Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, the higher representative of the foreign policy at the EU Javier Solana and the EU commissioner for foreign political affairs, Chris Patten will meet on July 15 and 16 altogether with him.

He added that in the second day of the meeting, the four member committee will meet with the foreign ministers of Egypt Ahmad Maher, Jordan's Marwan Muasher and of Saudi Arabia's Prince Saud al-Faisal in order to revive negotiations between the Israeli and Palestinian sides.

It is expected that the meeting will be held at the headquarters of the UN with the participation of the UN chief Kofi Annan.
