Women's organizations discuss equal work opportunities

Promoting skills of working women' was the theme of a seminar that focused on the importance of giving women equal access to employment, supervisory posts, and participation in political and administrative decision-making processes.
Thirty representatives of various women's organization attended the event, which also proposed that women could take on voluntary work and develop their skills through training programmes in order to boost their economic and social potentials.
Counsellor Abdul Rahman Farag, Head of the People's Assembly (PA) Constitutional and Legislative Committee said that the unified labour bill discussed by the PA is considered as Egypt's qualification for being ranked among those nations that respect social and economic conventions framed by international organizations.
Legal expert and MP, Georgette Saad said that the National Council for Women (NCW) would set up a special unit for working "women and an office in each ministry to deal with complaints and suggestions on women's employment issues.
