Moroccan FM Meets Hyundai CEO
Morocco-South Korea, Economics, 7/6/2002

Morocco's minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, held on Friday a work session with Kye-Ahn Lee, the chief-executive officer of Hyundai Capital, who is paying this July 4-6 a visit to Morocco. The two men underscored the good relations existing between Morocco and south Korea and expressed will to further develop them, mainly in investments.

In another development, secretary of state for foreign affairs and cooperation, Taib Fassi Fihri, received Korea's ambassador to Morocco, Chul-Ki Ju, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The ambassador stressed that the volume of trade is encouraging and likely to spur businessmen of the two countries to further increase exchanges.

In 2001, the total volume of trade exchanges between Morocco and Korea reached US$ 140 million and in the period between January and May 2002, Korea's exports stood at US$ 26,5 million.
