Algeria has nothing to reproach Morocco with as regards terrorism backing, Algerian general
Algeria-Morocco, Politics, 7/4/2002

The chief of staff of Algeria's people's national army (ANP), the head of staff of the army corps Mohamed Lamari asserted Tuesday that his country "has nothing to reproach Morocco with regarding the arming or any other backing to terrorism."

"I say and I confirm that we have nothing to reproach the official Morocco, monarchy and government, as regards the arming or any other backing to terrorism," said general Lamari at a news conference with the Algerian media.

"I weigh my words and I repeat it again, we have no information that Morocco, as a monarchy and as a state, had helped, prepared or equipped Algerian terrorists. On the contrary," General Lamari said in the news conference that was fully aired by the Algerian TV.

He did not exclude however that border populations may have extended assistance to armed groups for money.
