Palestine-Israel, Military, 7/4/2002

An Israeli military force has broke into al-Rafideyah village near Nablus and launched a vast detention campaign and similar acts were conducted against Beit Annan village near Ramullah.

Two Palestinians were wounded in Qalqilya when the Israeli forces stormed into the city where scores of persons were arrested.

Meantime, an Israeli military spokesman admitted that two Israeli soldiers were wounded in an armed clash with members of the Palestinian national resistance near "Ghani Taal" settlement to the south of Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Israeli mini ministerial political and security team on Wednesday discussed several proposals given by the Israeli Defense Minister Benjamin Bin Aliazer aiming at tightening the siege and oppressive acts against the Palestinians. The Israeli radio said the said team decided to impose curfew during nights at all Palestinian villages, villages and camps. The radio added that the participants in the meeting discussed measures that limit the entry of the Palestinian workers into the territories of 1948 and only permitting some of them to work in certain Israeli sectors which suffer short labor force, and at very strong security measures.

At the Palestinian level, member of the Palestinian legislative council Nabil Amre called on the international community to pressure Israel in order to lift its siege on the Palestinians and its withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Palestinian minister of culture and media Yasser Abderabbo expressed fears the current meeting of the four - member committee (US, Russia, UN and Europe) will ignore the main question in the Middle East because of the American pressures. He explained that this international meeting is held while Israel continues its practices against the Palestinians.
