UN secretary general arrives in Vienna to hold talks with Iraq's Sabri

The UN Secretary General Kofi Annan arrived on Wednesday in Vienna to hold talks with the Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri.

In a statement, the UN said that Hans Blix, the Executive Chairman of the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC), Mohammed El Baradei, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, UN Legal Counsel Hans Corell and Yuli Vorontsov, the UN's High Level Coordinator dealing with missing persons and property will assist Annan in these talks.

Annan and Sabi will discuss about lifting the UN siege imposed on Iraq since 1990, for the return of the UN inspectors to Iraq.

A source close to the talks said the third round of these talks which were launched in March this year will start today. It is expected to be held within four sessions, two of them are at experts level. The four sessions will be held on oday and tomorrow.
