Iran, Turkey: Iraq's territorial integrity essential for regional stability
Iraq-Regional, Politics, 7/4/2002

The spokesman for the Turkish foreign ministry Hussein Deir Bouz has stressed that protecting the unity and sovereignty of the Iraqi territories is a basic precondition for the future of Iraq and regional stability.

In a statement to the press on Wednesday, the Turkish spokesman added that the Iraqi people are the one who define the future of Iraq. He said that sector (divisions according to areas) and ethnic plans which do not reflect the joint will of all Iraqi circles will not succeed, adding that Turkey follows up closely all developments.

Meantime, Iran renewed its rejection to any American attack likely to be made against Iraq.

The spokesman for the Iranian government Abdullah Ramadan Zada said in a statement on Wednesday that the use of force in international relations is not accepted by any country and falls outside international norms.
