Israel Radio: Arafat makes new appointments

The chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat has appointed the former governor of Jenin Zuheir Manasra as a chairman for the Palestinian preventive security in the West Bank instead of Jibril al-Rajjoub.
Arafat also appointed Salim al-Bardeini as a commander for the Palestinian police in Gaza instead of Ghazi al-Habbali. He also appointed Omar Ashour as a commander for civil defense in Gaza instead of Mahmoud Abu Marzouq.
Arafat also appointed Lt. Gen. Ribhi Arafat as the chairman of the Palestinian Liaison office in Gaza and the West Bank instead of Omar Ashour. The Israeli radio reported.
