Al-Dostour: Arab League denies news on chief's resignation
Regional, Politics, 7/2/2002

The office director of the secretary general of the Arab League (AL) Hisham Bader has denied what was published on the intention of the AL chief Amr Moussa to give his resignation in protest of the Arab states not buying a private plane for him to be used in his travels and in protest of the difficult financial conditions the AL is facing.

In an exclusive statement to the Jordanian daily al-Dostour issued on Monday, Bader denied the existence of any request made by the AL chief for buying him a private plane.

Bader expressed his regret to such fabricated news. The chairman of the AL chief office also denied what was rumored on the intention of the former Jordanian Prime Minister Taher al-Masri who currently maintains the post of the commissioner of the civil society affairs commissioner at the Arab League to stop working in this post.
