Chinese official denies nuclear cooperation with Egypt

The spokesman for the Chinese embassy to Cairo has denied news which said that his country provides aids to Egypt in order to develop nuclear weapons.
In a statement to the Egyptian Middle East News Agency MENA on Monday, the Chinese spokesman said that what was stated by certain press agencies of reports and information on this issue is fabricated and groundless. He explained that his country, in its capacity as a member on the Non- Proliferation Treaty (NPT) supports an initiative which makes the middle East a region free from all mass destruction weapons.
