Syrian- Iraqi agreement to found 7 companies

The Syrian Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade Ghassan al- Refai said in statements last month that Iraq and Syria agreed to found seven companies in various fields and that two of these companies have become operational.
Al-Refai who was in Baghdad added that:" it was agreed to found a company for land transport and sea transport, glass industry, fertilizers, oil and other advanced industries and that that two land and sea companies have already started their works and other companies will start work very soon."
The Syrian minister added that the Syrian- Iraqi relations " are proceeding forward rapidly, stressing the joint desire to revitalize bilateral cooperation at all levels." He continued that the " indicators of developing brotherly relations appears clearly to the effect that Iraq is the strategic depth for Syria and that Syria is Iraq's other depth for the interests of the two sisterly countries."
