Yemen: an explosion near a security official's house

A booby trapped car went off on Sunday near the house of a security official in Sanaa. No casualties were reported.

An official in the Yemeni police said that explosion " took place very early morning, Sunday" near the house of Maj. Gen. Fadel al-Fousi, the director of Omran's province security, 40 Km to the north of the capital Sanaa.

The official, who asked to be anonymous said the " explosion resulted from an explosive placed under the seat of the driver in a car which was parked in front of al-Fousi house" in a quarters where the defense ministry headquarters also situated.

Meantime a British frigate anchored in Aden to be the first western ship to land in Aden since blowing up the American warship USS Cole. Navigation sources said that high ranking Yemeni official and the British ambassador to Yemen were at the port to welcome Frigate " Campell Ðtown."
