Al-Nueimi: detainees in Guantanamo will be released very soon

Chairman of the committee in charge of defending detainees at Guantanamo prison Nabib al-Nueimi said he expects a group of detainees held at the American base in Guantanamo, in Cuba's island to be released very soon following months of detention without trial in Afghanistan and Pakistan and then in Guantanao.
Al-Nueimi has arrived from the US where he had held contacts with the Pentagon on the condition of the detainees in the American base. He refused to define the number of persons to be released and their nationality, stressing he got these information from American sources.
Worthy mentioning that more than 560 prisoners from almost 30 countries suspected to belong to Taliban or al-Qaida organization, are currently held in Guantanamo.
Al-Numeimi said that several Arabs are among those detainees including 150- 160 from Saudi Arabia, 85 Yemenis, 12 Kuwaitis, 7 from Bahrain, 6 to 7 from Morocco and one from Qatar.
