The formation of the new Algerian cabinet

The new Algerian government which was declared on Monday evening and chaired by Ali Benflis was joined by 15 new ministers for the ministries of justice, education, finance, communications, culture, higher education, water resources, posting, vocational formation, industry, labor, social solidarity, fishing, small enterprises, relations with the parliamentary and housing.

The Minister of State For Foreign Affairs Abdul Aziz Balkhadem stayed in his post in addition to the ministers of tourism, energy, mines, peasantry, rural development, health, al-Awqaf, old veterans and construction. The new government was also joined by five women including the minister of telecommunication and culture and the spokeswoman for the government Khalida Toumy.

The former Algerian Minister of Justice Ahmed Ouyahia was appointed as a state minister, personal envoy for the president of the republic.

A statement by the Algerian presidency said that four ministerial posts were exchanged. They are the ministers of commerce and boosting investment; trade reforms coordination, public works and fishery.

The statement said that the minister of education was exempted from his post. The minister of justice who kept his post as a minister of state and an envoy for the president was exempted from the post as a minister of justice.
