Israeli radio: Israeli sources and the Palestinian state

Israeli sources said on Monday that the declaration of founding a provisional Palestinian state during the current phase will undermine Israel's ability to "fight the Palestinian terrorism" especially the work inside the territories that falls under the complete Palestinian control.

These Israeli sources explained that the Palestinian Authority did not move to fight terrorism and the world might explain any incursion to the Israeli security forces in the Palestinian Authority area after announcing the foundation of the Palestinian state as an aggressive step. The Israeli radio reported on Monday.

The radio added that several Arab states including Egypt and Saudi Arabia expressed their fears that extremist sides will carry out a large "terrorist operation" inside Israel during the current week to obstruct the speech to be delivered by the US President George Bush.

The radio added quoting high ranking American sources saying that Riyadh asked Washington to have Bush's speech to include a defined border for the Palestinian state to be on the border lines of June 1967 and to talk about the right of the Palestinians to return back to their homeland according to UN resolution 194.
