Al-Assad reviewed with Prince al-Walid Bin Talal his investment, tourism activities in Syria

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received the Saudi Prince al-Walid Bin Talal. The meeting was attended by the Saudi ambassador in Damascus Baker Bin Abdullah Bin Baker.

Discussions dealt with the tourism and investment activities the Saudi prince has in Syria.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro received Prince Bin Talal and members of the accompanying delegation.

The Saudi prince offered his commiseration on the victims of the burst of the Zayzoun dam and the inflicted damages and expressed his sympathy with the families of the victims.

Prince Bin Talal gave Miro an official notification of a donation to rehabilitate the destroyed area, rebuilding the dam and the demolished villages and rehabilitate the agricultural lands filled with waters.

Later in the day, the Saudi prince left Damascus and he said in a press conference that he will build a village at the center of Zayzoun village demolished as a result of the dam's collapse as a gift from him to the Syrian people. He said that this village will be composed of 500 houses and provided with basic needs of water, electricity and sewage systems, schools, clinics and a mosque.
