Al-Assad to visit Cairo Saturday

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad will visit Cairo on Saturday to meet with President Hosni Mubarak, who has arrived from Washington, well-informed sources in Cairo said on Wednesday. The sources said Mubarak will brief al-Assad on the results of his visit to the US and the talks he had held with President George Bush, noting that the two presidents will discuss "exerted efforts to eliminate tension in the Palestinian territories and bring back the two sides to the table of negotiations."
President al-Assad visited Egypt in May where he took part in the tripartite summit beside President Mubarak and the Saudi crown prince Abdullah.
