Italy, major market for Egyptian exports

A report issued by the foreign trade ministry on exports for the year 2001 indicated that Egyptian exports to overseas markets have seen marked progress.

The report noted that Italy is still the major market for the Egyptian exports where Egyptian exports hit some dlrs 376 million for the year 2001.

Also exports to India reached some dlrs 250 million against 155 million in the year 2000, according to the report.

As for Iraq, the Egyptian exports reached dlrs 90 million against dlrs 63 million for the year 2000.

The U.S. ranked second on the list of importing countries where Egyptian exports reached dlrs 341 million, added the report.
