Bahrain licenses dual nationality with Gulf states

The King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa has given his instructions to amend the Bahraini nationality law so as the Bahraini citizen can keep his own identity when he wants to get the nationality of one of the Gulf Cooperation member states (GCC).
In the weekly session of Bahrain's cabinet, the minister of foreign affairs in Bahrain Sheikh Muhammad Bin Mubarak al-Khaleifa said he had informed the ministerial council of the GCC to recommend that Bahrain moves towards ensuring the suitable environment to achieve this idea "the Gulf citizenship." An idea which was discussed during the consultation summit of the GCC leaders recently held in Jeddah.
Sheikh Hamdan explained that the directives of the King of Bahrain state to permit the Bahraini citizen to keep his own nationality when he gets the nationality of one of the GCC member states, besides that a GCC citizen who receives the Bahraini citizenship does not have to drop his first nationality.
Sheikh Muhammad conveyed all these directives to the Bahraini cabinet in which he said that the ministerial council of the Gulf Cooperation Council welcomed them.
