TTA news: The Syrian- American dialogue

The French weekly TTA news bulletin said the first round of the Syrian- American negotiations which was held on May 25 at Rice University in Houston, the USA revealed the deep gap between Washington and Damascus on the debated issues despite the fact that Washington showed its content over the Syrian- American cooperation in the area of fighting terrorism.

The French bulletin said that to establish normal relations with Syria, Washington has set a precondition which is to disarm Hizbullah, expel the Palestinian groups that exist in Syria and freeze the developed cooperation relations with each of Iraq and Iran.

The TTA news bulletin made it clear that certain sides at the US congress are currently studying issuing pressure decisions against Syria, that coincides with the Israeli threats against Syria also.

It indicated that President Bashar al-Assad personally chose members of the Syrian delegation which took part in the first session of the dialogue and that the formation of the American delegation which took part in the dialogue reflected the importance Washington gives to this dialogue especially as this US delegation is supportive for dialogue with Damascus and opposed months ago including Syria to the list of the "axis of evil" states.
