People's Assembly to review new budget

The People's Assembly will debate today Saturday, the new budget for fiscal year 2002/2003.
The debates cover the plan and Budget Committee's reports on the new budget, and means to increase the standard of living.
The appropriations of wages rose by nine percent to L.E 34.7 billion.
The committee chairman Ahmed Ezz said that the wages and salaries of workers at the state's machinery should be reconsidered.
"The committee's reports called for increasing the domestic and foreign investments to carry out infrastructure projects and pursuing the taxation reform," he added.
Meanwhile, the People's Assembly will also review the train incident. The Assembly is expected to pass the budget draft law on Monday.
