European commission presents Bibliotecha Alexandrina with Rome treaty

The Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, Chairperson of Bibliotecha Alexandrina (BA) board of trustees, received a hand-written message from head of the European Commission Romano Prodi on presenting the BA with a copy of Rome Treaty that provides for setting up the European Economic Community signed by the six founding members on March 25, 1957.
The Commission also gave a leather-birded English copy of the treaties providing for establishment of the European Community and a copy of the unified European law of the year 1986.
Prodi told Mrs. Mubarak in his message that according to the 1990 Aswan Declaration, the revival of the Alexandria Library will resemble the creation of a place where sciences and arts can flourish.
He wished success for the BA in its intellectual message. Mrs. Mubarak thanked Prodi for the European Commission's gifts.
