OIC supports Libyan efforts in Indian-Pakistani crisis
Libya-Regional, Politics, 5/31/2002
Secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Abdelouahed Belkziz said the pan-Islamic organization supports efforts by Libyan to defuse the tension between India and Pakistan. Belkziz said at a phone conversation with secretary of the Libyan people's committee for African unity (foreign minister), Abde Salam Triki, he is convinced "efforts will be successful in view of the esteem enjoyed by Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi and the importance he grants to settling the problem."
A Libyan source said Belkziz also expressed the OIC's consideration for Gadhafi's laudable efforts in this issue.
